Mr. Baillie has a Masters Degree in Microelectronics and Business Studies and a Bachelors degree in Applied Physics, both from Durham University, UK.

Andreas Bertl

Andreas Bertl received his Dipl.-Ing. degree from the Graz University of Technology in 1990. From 1990 to 1995 he worked with Austria Micro Systems as mixed-signal designer. From 1996 to 1999 he was group manager of “Microcontroller Modules”, since 1999 he is manager of the department “Mixed-Signal-IP and Support”. Since 2004 he has worldwide responsibility for Analogue Technology & Exploration.

Stan Boland

Stan Boland is President & CEO of Icera Inc. In 2002, Stan co-founded Icera Inc, which now employs over 200 staff in four countries around the world. After an early career with Rolls-Royce, Bell Resources, Bricom and ICL, he joined Acorn Computers in 1997 and was appointed CEO in 1998. In 1999, he led the acquisition and VC backing for a core part of Acorn – its high-performance microprocessor design group - renamed Element 14. Within 18 months, Element 14 had been transformed into the world’s leader in high density ADSL chipsets for broadband wireline access. In late 2000, he sold the Company to Broadcom Corporation. Boland graduated in Physics from Cambridge University in 1981.

Pierre Bricaud

Pierre’s main responsibility is to work closely with the European microelectronic companies to develop new methodologies for SoC/IP Reuse technology and at the same time support start up/SME companies in this field, especially in Provence Alpes Cote d’ Azur, France . Prior to this position, Pierre was Director of Marketing for the Mentor Graphics’ IP Division and GM of Mentor Graphics’ IP R&D Factory in Sophia Antipolis, France. Previously, Pierre was at Compass Design Automation, where he was Director of Marketing/Applications for WW software products. Before Compass, Pierre spent 19 years in Philips Semiconductor and Signetics organizations in France, Netherlands and the United States. Pierre has always been involved in leading-edge techniques, methodologies and technologies evolving around ASIC-ASSP and IC design in Bipolar and CMOS semiconductor processes. Pierre is co-author of the Reuse Methodology Manual for SoC Designs.

Tudor Brown

Tudor Brown was one of the founders of ARM. Before joining the Company, he was Principal Engineer at Acorn Computers, where he worked on the ARM R&D programme. At ARM, he was Engineering Director and Chief Technical Officer from 1993; in October 2000, he was appointed Executive Vice President (EVP), Global Development and in October 2001 he was appointed to the board as Chief Operating Officer. He is a non-executive director of ANT plc.

Julian Callow

Julian Callow is based in London, he manages a team of eleven economists responsible for analysing the European economy and monetary and fiscal policy. Julian has been consistently ranked within the top five for Institutional Investor Surveys of European investors on an annual basis going back to 2000, coming third in the most recent 2008 European Fixed Income Survey. He has been a member of the “ECB Shadow Council”, an independent panel of economists convened by Handelsblatt that meets monthly to discuss ECB policy, since its formation in 2002. Prior to working at Barclays Capital, Julian worked at Credit Suisse First Boston (1999-2003, where he was in charge of continental European economics and Co-Head of European Economics), Dresdner Kleinwort Benson (1992-99), Chase Manhattan (1990-92) and the Bank of England (1987-90, where he was responsible for analysing the economies and financial systems of North America). He graduated in 1987 from Oxford University with a First Class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He is married with two children and his interests include music and tennis.

Aart de Geus

Co-founding Synopsys in 1986, Dr. Aart de Geus has expanded Synopsys from a start-up synthesis enterprise to a world leader in electronic design automation (EDA). Dr. de Geus was made a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in January 1999. He has been honoured for his industry achievements with the 2001 IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Industrial Pioneer Award, the 2007 IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal, and the 2008 EDAC/CEDA Kaufman award. In 2002, Dr. de Geus was named CEO of the Year by Electronic Business magazine, and in 2004, Entrepreneur of the Year in IT for Northern California by Ernst & Young. In November 2005, Electronic Business magazine chose Dr. de Geus as one of "The 10 Most Influential Executives." In November of 2007, he was awarded the Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) “Spirit of the Valley” Lifetime Achievement Award. And in October 2008, he was presented with the Phil Kaufman Award for distinguished contributions to EDA. Dr. de Geus is Chairman of the Board of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG), and a member of TechNet, the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), and the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC). He created in 1999 the Synopsys Outreach Foundation, which promotes project-based science and math learning throughout Silicon Valley.

Dwight Decker

Dwight W. Decker, Ph.D., retired as chairman and chief executive officer of Conexant Systems, Inc. He currently holds the GSA Board chairman position. Dr. Decker joined Rockwell International in 1989 as director of data modem products engineering, followed by positions of increasing responsibilities that included marketing, sales and general management. Prior to the spin-off from Rockwell, Dr. Decker was senior vice president of Rockwell and president of Rockwell Semiconductor Systems. Before joining Rockwell, he was director of modem engineering for Telebit Corporation in Mountain View, Calif. Previously, Dr. Decker was an assistant professor of mathematics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a member of the Technology Network (TechNet) and is a director of TechNet’s Orange County chapter. Dr. Decker’s primary higher-education focus has been with the University of California at Irvine. In addition, he is a board member on the Cal(IT)2 UCI Advisory Board, the UCI Graduate School of Management and the Beall Center for Art and Technology. He is also a member of the California Business for Education Excellence association. Dr. Decker received his bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from McGill University and his doctorate in applied mathematics from the California Institute of Technology.

Volker Herbig

Volker Herbig, manager of strategic marketing at X-FAB, oversees all technical marketing activities within the X-FAB Group. He previously held engineering, marketing and management positions at Siemens, Inkjet Technologies and Carl Zeiss where, among other activities, he developed MEMS inkjet print heads and was responsible for setting up a manufacturing facility for those. A published author of multiple papers on a variety of topics, he recently co-authored an article published in the GSA Forum, "Why Logic Foundries Will Fail in Moving to Analog." A MEMS-related paper also was published in 2007 at Semicon Europe, "Critical Success Factors for Foundries Serving the Sensor Actuator Market." Volker Herbig holds a master’s degree in physics from Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany.

Mark Jacob

Mark has 20 years experience of mixed signal and power semiconductors before joining Dialog in 2007 from Wolfson Microelectronics where he was responsible for strategic marketing of portable audio & audioplus products. Previously he held the commercial role of European Marketing Manager for Fairchild Semiconductor’s system power products supporting a large sales team and network of distributors. Earlier in his career he held several design positions at Plessey, Dialog Semiconductor and most recently Dublin-based Parthus Technologies (now Ceva Inc) where he was Design Manager and subsequently Technical director of Power Management. Mark graduated in 1988 with BEng Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Maria Marced

Per November 19, 2007 Mrs. Maria Marced is appointed President of TSMC Europe. Maria is responsible for driving the development, strategy and management of TSMC Europe. In 2005 Maria became Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sales and Marketing at NXP Semiconductors/Philips Semiconductors. Maria joined Philips Semiconductor in September 2003 as Senior Vice-president and General Manager of the Connected Multimedia Solutions Business Unit overseeing Philips' semiconductor solutions for Connected Consumer applications. Maria joined Philips from Intel where she developed her professional career over 19 years, reaching the top position in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region as Vice President and General Manager. Prior to Intel, Maria worked in Spain for several companies. Mrs. Marced holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain.

Steve Mollenkopf

Steve Mollenkopf serves as executive vice president and president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT). During his tenure at Qualcomm Mollenkopf’s technical and business leadership have been critical to the development and implementation of multiple industry-leading innovations. Beginning his career at Qualcomm in 1994 as an engineer, in 2007 Mollenkopf transitioned to a business role as senior vice president of product management for the Cellular Products Group (CPG). In 2008 he was promoted to executive vice president of the group and was appointed president of QCT soon after. Mollenkopf is also a member of Qualcomm’s Executive Committee, helping to drive Qualcomm’s overall global strategy. A published IEEE author, Mollenkopf holds six patents. Mollenkopf holds two electrical engineering degrees, including a BSEE from Virginia Tech and an MSEE from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

Tatsuo Noguchi

Mr. Tatsuo Noguchi was born in Osaka, Japan in 1958. He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in electronics from Toyohashi University of Technology in Aichi, Japan. 1983 he joined Semiconductor Technology Laboratories of TOSHIBA Corporation in Kawasaki, Japan, where he has been engaged in research and development of CMOS technologies. From 1995 to 1998 he was product manager at Iwate Toshiba Electronics. After his return to TOSHIBA Corporation in Kawasaki, he managed the development of CMOS and embedded memory technologies between 1998 and 2005 as Manager and Senior Manager. From 2005 to 2008, he moved to a Business Unit where he managed Telecommunication LSIs and Imaging Devices business unit. In 2008 Mr. Noguchi was promoted to Technology Executive and is currently responsible for SoC products and Platform technologies in System LSI division of Toshiba Semiconductor Company.

Mark Redford

He is currently head of Advanced Process Technology Development at CSR, a leading wireless IC maker. Michelle Richmond

Michelle has an electronics engineering degree from the Southampton Institute of Higher Education. She was employed in 1981 by Siemens Plessey Radar, Isle of Wight as an apprentice and then microwave technician engineer. On completion of her degree, Michelle became Principle Microwave Design Engineer. She was then promoted to Development Manager. Michelle joined Nokia Huntingdon in 1995. She moved to Matra Marconi Space in Stevenage in 1996 as Antenna Project Manager and later Deputy Project Manager for the Skynet 5 Satellite System. In 2000 joined Ubinetics, as Programme Manager, working on advanced 3G test platforms and then as Operations Manager. Ubinetics was acquired by Aeroflex in 2005. Michelle has been IET Director of Membership & Professional Development since July 2006. Michelle also represents the IET on EC(UK) Board of Trustees and was a member of the IET Council at the time of its formation by the IIE and IEE. Michelle was awarded Britain’s ‘Young Woman Engineer of the Year’ in 1990.

David Ruffieux

David Ruffieux received the B.S & M.S. degree in micro-engineering in 1995 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and the Ph.D. degree in 2000 from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. In 1995, he was hired by the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM), where he worked in the fields of MEMS and IC design. In 2000, he joined the RF and Analog IC design group of CSEM where he is involved in analog and RF low power, low voltage circuit design. He is now principal engineer leading research activities in the fields of MEMS-based wireless transceivers and low power RTC based on silicon MEMS resonators. Dr. Ruffieux has published over 15 technical publications, holds 8 patents in his diverse fields of expertise and received the 1999 ESSCIRC best paper award.

Wesley Ryder

Wesley Ryder has over twenty five years experience in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry as a user and supplier. For the last fifteen years, he has held a variety of positions at Mentor Graphics including European Marketing Director, European Technical Director and most recently Worldwide Technical Director. Prior to this he held EDA technical and sales roles at GenRad, Cadence Design and ECAD as well as design engineering positions at BAE Systems and Array Logic. He has chartered marketer status with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, holds a Masters degree from Glamorgan University and Diplomas in Marketing (DipM) and Electronic Design.

Jodi Shelton

Jodi Shelton is the co- founder and president of GSA. A pioneer within the technology space, Shelton masterminded the creation of the Alliance and has continuously addressed global issues in the industry as the voice of its members. Under her leadership, GSA has grown to include more than 500 corporate members from across the globe, united in improving the image and credibility of the fabless ecosystem. In her role as executive director Shelton oversees GSA daily operations, ensuring that the Alliance remains focused on achieving its defined vision and goals. She acts as the key liaison between GSA and the business community at high-level financial and industry conferences, providing insight on key topics pertaining to the global fabless supply chain. Some of Shelton’s recent accomplishments include ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ and seamlessly transitioning the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) to the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) in 2007. Shelton earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from San Diego State University and her master’s degree in political science from the University of Houston.

Dr. Massimo Sivilotti

Dr. Massimo Sivilotti is responsible for setting strategic directions for Tanner's EDA tool development, developing specifications for new feature development, and working with customers to support their evolving needs. Sivilotti has been involved in microelectronics design and EDA tool development for more than 20 years. Sivilotti received his bachelors of science degree in engineering physics from Queen's University, Canada, and his Ph.D. from Caltech. Sivilotti is the co-holder of 6 patents and the author of numerous scientific publications.

Lip-Bu Tan

He has been a member of the Cadence Board of Directors since 2004 and serves as a member of the Finance and Technology Committees of the Board. He also serves as chairman of Walden International, a venture capital firm he founded in 1987. Prior to founding Walden, Tan was Vice President at Chappell & Co. and held management positions at EDS Nuclear and ECHO Energy. Tan received an M.S. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA from the University of San Francisco, and a B.S. from Nanyang University in Singapore. He serves on the Board of Directors of both the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC) and the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).

Joep van Beurden

Joep van Beurden was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CSR on 1, November 2007. He has over ten years of experience in managing technology companies in the US and Europe. For the three years prior to joining CSR, he was Chief Executive of NexWave Inc., a provider of embedded software solutions for the consumer electronics market based in France. Before joining NexWave, Joep held senior positions at Canesta Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, and Philips Components. Whilst at Philips, he was part of the executive team which established a successful consumer electronics joint venture with LGE. Prior to that, he worked for five years for management and strategy consultants McKinsey & Company. Mr. van Beurden has also worked as a crude oil trader for Royal Dutch Shell in Rotterdam and lectured in Physics and Electronics at the University of Zambia. Joep van Beurden holds a Masters degree in Applied Physics from Twente University of Technology in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Benedetto Vigna

Benedetto Vigna received his degree in Subnuclear Physics from the University of Pisa in 1993. After two years he joined STMicroelectronics’ Research and Development Lab in Castelletto, Italy. Vigna was a pioneer of micromachining activity in STMicroelectronics. After two years spent at the Berkeley Sensors and Actuator Center in California and a Business Management Course at STUniversity, he was appointed Director of ST’s MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) Business Unit. In early 2007 he was appointed its General Manager. In April 2008, Vigna was promoted to Group Vice President and his responsibilities were enlarged to include MEMS, Sensors, RF Low Power and devices for Healthcare applications. Benedetto Vigna has filed more than 100 patents on micromachining to date and authored numerous publications in this field. He also serves as industrial consultant for the President of the Italian Scientific Research Center (CNR).

Mohamed Wahab

Mohamed Wahab is the Managing Director of DELTA Microelectronics Ltd. He founded DELTA Microelectronics, the UK subsidiary of DELTA Denmark in 2002. Mohamed is also a Professor of Electronic Engineering at the University of Glamorgan in South Wales. Prior to DELTA Microelectronics, Mohamed was the Director of the Centre for Electronic Product Engineering at the University of Glamorgan and Professor of Electronics. He led the European Commission’s FUSE project for microelectronics technology transfer between 1996 and 2001. Mohamed was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2004 for services to Electronic Engineering. He holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Hull and a PhD in Medical Electronics from the University of Wales.

Steve Wainwright

Steve joined Freescale in June 2005 as the VP of Sales in EMEA based in Geneva, and was promoted to his new position in January 2008. With 25 years experience in the semiconductor business Steve has held various senior leadership positions in Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Prior to his current role, Steve was VP of Sales for the IBM Microelectronics business in Europe. In this position he had responsibility for serving major players including Ericsson, Nokia, and Siemens. Steve also held Sales management roles with Harris Semiconductor and Celdis, where he was UK General Manager of the distribution business. Steve holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management.
